I. Submission of Entrees & Routines

A. Submission of entrees

  1. All entrees must be unedited and must be posted publicly on both Tik Tok and Facebook platforms (posted by 2359 HRS PHILIPPINE TIME or GMT+8 on the day of the stated deadline).
  2. The Tik Tok/FB post must include the hashtag #PHreestyle2021. All entrees that are submitted or posted late and past the cutoff time will be disqualified.
  3. Deadlines for posting of entries are as follows (times are Philippine local time or GMT+8):
    a. Pre – register by August 9, 2021 on this link http://bit.ly/PFFC_2021_Entry_Form
    b. Initial Entries – post by Tuesday, August 17, 2021 (by 2359 hours)
    c. Quarterfinal Entries – post by Wednesday, August 25, 2021 (by 2359 hours)
    d. Semifinal Entries – post by Wednesday, Sept 1, 2021 (by 2359 hours)
    e. Finals & Battle for 3rd – post by Wednesday, Sept 15, 2021 (by 2359 hours)
  4. Video must be firmly put in one angle and most not shake.
  5. Participants can be either be male or female.
  6. Participants must be at least 16 years old on the date of the Initial Entry (August 17, 2021). 7. Participants under the age of 18 must submit a completed Waiver and Parental Consent Form via email to phreestyle2021@gmail.com

B. Routines

  1. Hands are not allowed to be used during routines.
  2. Panelist of judges will deduct 2 points if the ball drops on the ground unintentionally. If the ball is clearly dropped as part of the routine, then the drop ball will not be penalized. 3. Panelist of judges will deduct 2 points if the routine is over the required time allowed for each routine. (See Section C below).
  3. Participants may only use the following songs on their TikTok video routines: a. “DJ Turn It Up” by Yellow Claw
    b. “Walk This Way” by RUN DMC & Aerosmith
    c. “Sweat” by Myles Erick
    d. “Futkal” by OG Sacred
    e. “Sugod” by Sandwich

C. Duration of Entrees

  1. Seeding stage: All entrees during the seeding stage must not be more than 30 seconds in Iength.
  2. Quarter Finals and Semi Finals: All entrees for the Quarter and Semifinal stages will consist of 2 videos, and each video must not be longer than 30 seconds in length.
  3. Battle for 3rd and Championship: All entrees for the Battle for 3rd and the Championship shall consist of 3 videos, and each video must not be longer than 30 seconds in length.

II. RANK AND STAGES

II.1 SEEDING 

1. All entrees are welcome. In the seeding stage, a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 panelists will determine the top players who will qualify for the quarter finals.  

2. Each panelist will rank the submissions from 1-16 and submit their rankings to the Chairman of the Panel Committee. The rankings of each player will be added up to a cumulative score. The submission  with the highest rank will be ranked #1, and the next highest cumulative rank will be ranked #2 until all  16 ranks are determined based on their cumulative rankings. 

3. If there is a tie in the seedings, the judges will deliberate again and will decide the rankings among  the tied participants in the rankings. 

II.2 QUARTER FINALS

  1. Semi Pro level – 1st – 8th in ranking will play in the quarter finals.
    In terms of ranking, 1 will matchup against 8 (QF1), 2 will matchup against 7 (QF2), 3 will matchup against 6 (QF3), and 4 will matchup against 5 (QF4).

2. Amateur Level – 9th – 16th in ranking will play quarter finals.
In terms of ranking 9 will matchup against 16 (QF5), 10 will matchup against 15 (QF6), 11 will matchup against 14 (QF7), and 12 will matchup against 13 (QF8).

II.3 SEMI-FINALS

  1. Winner of QF1 will play winner of QF4 (SF1); Winner of QF2 will play winner of QF3 (SF2); Winner of QF5 will play winner of QF8 (SF3); Winner of QF6 will play winner of QF7 (SF4);

II.4 FINALS & BATTLE FOR 3RD

  1. Winner of SF1 will play winner of SF2 (FINAL 1). The losers of SF1 and SF2 will face each other for
    Battle for 3rd Place. The winner of FINAL 1 will be declared Semi-Pro Division Philippine Football Freestyle Online Championship Champion.
  2. Winner of SF3 will play winner of SF4. (FINAL 2). The losers of SF3 and SF4 will face each other for Battle for 3rd Place. The winner of FINAL 2 will be declared Amateur Division Philippine Football Freestyle Online Championship Champion.

III. PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT

III.1 CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Participants can use their own ball
  2. Hands are NOT allowed
  3. Judges will be picking the winner on overall performance
  4. Foreign objects cannot be integrated into the battles (E.g.
    bottles, rope etc.)
  5. Participants must not leave the screen at any time.
  6. No other people are allowed to be brought into battle
  7. Dropped ball after trick attempt is not considered as
    anything else than a drop unless it is clearly part of the
    routine.
  8. Any action after the time limit does not count into the
    performance.
  9. No outside interference in holding the ball to body (E.g. glue,
    tape, laces etc.)
  10. Changing equipment (shoes, ball) is not allowed during battle
  11. Impersonating of the opponent is allowed, but disrespecting
    is strictly forbidden. There is a very fine line here and
    collectively the judges shall decide if anyone is acting
    inappropriately

III.2 EQUIPMENT

  1. Every freestyler is allowed to use his or her own football.
  2. Ball of size 5 is preferable choice. Nevertheless there is
    tolerance of 0.5 both ways (4.5 and 5.5).
  3. It is strictly prohibited to use more than one ball in battle.
  4. Surface of the ball and tricks performed with it are
    considered by judges
  5. No modification to ball is allowed.
  6. In case there an official ball of tournament is requested to be
    used by all players, the organizers must send this ball to
    every participant at least 1 month before so he can get used
    to it.
  7. Participants must wear proper footwear. Routines in sandals
    or barefoot is not allowed.

III.3 USE OF HANDS

  1. It is forbidden to touch the ball with hands in battle with no
    exception
  2. Every use of the hand is considered as a mistake
  3. Use of hand is considered as touching the ball with any part
    of the elbow down to the hand.

III.4 VIOLATIONS & DISQUALIFICATION PROCESS

  1. A violation of any of the above can lead to point deductions or disqualification.
  2. Panelists or Judges must vote a simple majority in order to to disqualify a participant.

IV. JUDGES/PANELIST & JUDGING

  1. There must be an odd number of judges (minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5). 2. Judges need to be briefed properly following judging criteria.
  2. Chair of the Panel Committee is responsible for the whole panel regarding timing, distribution of sheets and proper briefing. He is the middle-person of the Tournament Director towards the judging panel.
  3. All judges are given judging sheets. They must complete the sheets and submit to the Chair of the Panel Committee.
  4. Judge’s decision is final and cannot be changed.

CRITERIA

  1. The five main criteria of each video are Difficulty, All-round, Originality, Execution, Control

    They are all equally weighted. Each criterion includes sub-criteria, which the judges are obliged to take into consideration.

    The judges will be giving points from 0-5 to each player in a particular criterion. The winner is determined by the player who gets the most amount of points on the scorecard when all the points are summed up across all submitted videos

    If the players get equal amount of points, the player who won the most criteria wins the battle. If it is still a tie, then audience vote will decide the winner. If the scores are still tied after judge and audience voting, then a playoff round will be scheduled where the participants need to submit a new 30 second routine.

The guidelines for giving scores:


o 5 – Excellent
o 4 – Very good
o 3 – Good
o 2 – Fair
o 1 – Poor
o 0 – Absolutely failed

It is also possible to give 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5 points if you mean that the performance for a player was somewhere between the scores mentioned above .The point-giving must be given based on the main criteria and the sub-criteria. The criteria and sub-criteria are:

o Difficulty (Technical difficulty of the tricks and combinations, as well as response)

Overall performance – how difficult his full performance generally is
Response in moves– a clear response to your opponent’s tricks, style or concepts

o All-round (general ability to perform all parts of sport the best way possible)

The sum of the general level in Uppers, Lowers, Sit-downs, Transitions, Acrobatics and Ground moves

o Originality (Performing with individual style, creativity and variety)

Original style – original composition of tricks, unique execution of moves Original moves – new, unusual, unexpected tricks

Variety in general – ability to not repeat tricks or always tricks of the same kind in competition and over competitions

Variety within battle – ability to not repeat tricks within the battle

Choice of music – catchy, good.

o Execution (the style performance with ball is executed)

Cleanness – clean execution of tricks

Flow – ability to move the ball around body without hesitation

Style – how good looking the tricks are being performed

Dynamics – strength and speed of movements

Battle attitude – showing your confidence and/or attitude. Attitude is about creating battle vibe and adding value to performance, done with respect

Choreography – being able to sync routine to the music.

o Control (the way the whole performance with ball is controlled)

Control – general control of the ball on stage

Mistakes – dropping the ball or creating mistake

6. Points should be deducted from the overall scores if there are serious infractions and violations (e.g. going overtime, use of hands, drop balls)

V. PROTESTING

1.If there are any complaints or protests during the tournament, tournament director should be notified via email not more than 24 hours after decisions have been made.

2.If anyone is unclear about the rules, then any questions should be raised before the event begins. No complaints concerning rules will be considered once the event has started.

3.The judges should never be approached at any time throughout the duration of the event. Their decision is final and all participants should respect that.

VI. VIOLATIONS

  1. Serious violations of rules and regulations can be reported to the Tournament Director. The Tournament Director will then forward such concerns to a Penalty Committee consisting of 3 independent individuals appointed by the Tournament Organizers before the start of the tournament.
  2. Alleged violators must be aware of the process and have the chance to offer a defense. A defense could be in form of acceptance and apology. This is taken into consideration in process of issuing a punishment and sanction..
  3. The Penalty Committee will then decide what punishments should be given out. Decisions made by the Penalty Committee are final and cannot be appealed.

VII. FAN VOTING

  1. The judges/panelist decision will be weighted at 70%.
  2. Audience voting will be determined by the total combined number of reactions to the video routine on both Facebook and Tik Tok platforms. The Audience voting will be weighted at 30%. 3. The Alpakapalmuks Award will be determined and announced on the succeeding Monday after the results are aired. This is the viewer’s choice award for most creative or unique routine.

VII. Awards

  1. Champion
    a. Semi Pro – 10,000.00 php, Trophy
    b. Amateur – 5,000.00 php, Trophy
  2. Runner up
    a. Semi pro – 7,000.00 php, Trophy
    b. Amateur – 3,000.00 php, Trophy
  3. 3rd placer
    a. Semi pro – 5,000.00 php, Trophy
    b. Amateur – 1,000 php, Trophy

IX. CHANGES TO REGULATIONS

  1. Tournament Organizers reserve the right to amend these Regulations.
  2. If changes are made, then such amendments must be communicated on the Tournament website and social media pages. All confirmed participants and panelists must also be performed of such changes via email.
  3. Amendments to the rules must be made at least 7 days prior to the next scheduled competition stage before it shall take effect. Otherwise, the amendments will apply to the succeeding competition stage.
