The culminating festival of the Liga Eskwela Futsal, a program to develop futsal in public elementary schools, was held in La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) last January 28 with close to 800 participants. In 2016, 68 schools from NCR DepEd school divisions of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Muntinlupa, Manila, and Makati voluntarily attended futsal orientations, coach trainings, and played in inter-division futsal tournaments. From these elimination tournaments, 17 of the top teams from the 6 divisions were invited to LSGH to compete in U12 Boys, U12 Girls, and U10 Mixed age brackets. Congrats to Pineda ES (Pasig), Pedro P. Cruz ES (Mandaluyong), and Diosdado P. Macapagal ES (Q.C.) for winning the U12 Boys, U12 Girls, and U10 Mixed respectively.
